SEXUAL ASSUALTS ON FEMALE TROOPS IN U.S

According to the sources, U.S has reached maximum numbers of sexual assaults over the decade in the U.S military camps. As per new data which was released on Thursday, the percentage of women in the military who were sexually assaulted in 2021 increased to the highest level since the Defence Department began recording the figure more than a decade ago.

According to the annual department’s 2021 report, 8.4% of female troops and 1.5% of male troops were attacked while on duty in the previous calendar year, according on military person surveys. This equates to around 35,900 overall service members, up from a previous high of 34,200 in 2006, when 6.8% of women were reported to have been harassed.

According to the Unites States Army Four-star general who is appointed as the 28th United States Secretary of Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin intends to hire a cadre of new full-time, specialist experts tasked with stopping the attacks, one of the recommendations of an autonomous body he established last year to investigate the matter. Congress has also requested a review of the military judicial system's handling of the cases, but neither measure has yet taken effect.
